MARK GINGRICH

Founder / CEO

Born in San Antonio, Texas 1974, Mark's life was filled with both culture and sport. A pure athlete in its truest form, there are very few people who will experience or strive to perfection the way Gingrich has.

His first discipline, golf, was taught at the age of 4 by his father Ike Gingrich. Later at age 10 would come football, baseball, basketball and soccer. Skateboarding and surfing weren't far off at age 12 which became Gingrich's true passion and love for the next 13 years. Staying with the trend, snowboarding would complete this trifecta and lead to his greatest passion of all. It was at 18 Gingrich found Vail, Co., and, in the summer of 94 a place he would call home. But, in keeping with the trend...it was time for Gingrich to move on, and in the summer of 97 travelled back home to finish school. Though many more athletic accolades and accomplishments would lie in the not too distant future, academic and career goals had moved their way back into priority and the athlete in Gingrich would have to wait...

Mark's love for competition and fitness would never waver, and it was in the winter of 2001 Mark decided to move outside the corporate umbrella for a life more fulfilling. This time the change would be permanent. This time, Mark would get a chance to exploit everything he knew in sport and give it to the ones who needed it most. Looking to help aspiring athletes, Mark began training both professional and amateur athletes alike. It was at this time and not long after conditioning both himself and others Mark realized a talent and disciplined work ethic not otherwise known. The discipline would come in the form of Triathlon. The talent would come in the form of hard work and dedication. The rest is history...

Not one to slow down, Mark set his sights on boutique brand, HTFU. The vision was to create an (un) standard commodity within the sports world. "Brands today seem only to capture the essence of success." Gingrich declares. "Who's there to remind us that with success comes hardship, failure, pain or an uncanny desire to quit?" "Privation is the only way an athlete can develop"...Gingrich proclaims. "It's the only way one can see growth or success. Here's a question I want to know... What do you do when life says "no"? Do you stop, do you lie down, do you concede defeat or do you fight for another way? And when you finally decide what it is you are going to do, what sort of person will you become?"

Perhaps the word "relentless", best exemplifies Mark Gingrich's approach to business, athleticism, and life in general. By definition, relentlessness is "showing or promising no abatement of severity, intensity, strength, or pace." From the earliest of years, Mark has demonstrated an unmatched work ethic and a nonstop pursuit of his ambitions. Whether it is in his quest to better himself as an athlete, or the creation and success of HTFU, Mark Gingrich clearly shows no sign of stopping anytime soon.
